Prof Rajeev Kumar is the Director of Projects and Sustainable Development at the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya, India. Formerly, he was the Registrar, Head of the Department of Political Science and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences in Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar, India.
His specialisation is international politics particularly US Foreign Policy. He is also following identity politics by studying tribal politics especially the Gondwana movement. He has presented papers in international conferences and invited for lectures at international forum. He has also completed minor/major projects funded by ICSSR and UGC. Trained in research methodology in 80s through UGC sponsored workshops, he is actively engaged in creating teaching materials , lecture videos, documents and documentary films. He has supervised twelve doctoral thesis.He has also participated in election studies conducted by Political Science department, AMU during 80s, later surveys of CSDS.
Prof Rajeev Kumar is also founder of the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, a think tank and an autonomous Social Science Institute established by SATVA, an NGO. The institute publishes a journal, "The Uttar Pradesh Journal of Social Science Research" ISSN:0975-8852 since 2006.
Prof Kumar obtained PG,M.Phil and Ph. D. degrees from Aligarh Muslim University.He has also PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication.
He is ex commissioned officer of N.C.C. and has awarded as best N.C.C. officer. He has also appreciated by The Election Commission Of India and Deputy Director General NCC(UP) for outstanding performance in General Elections 1999 duties. He is a social worker, member of Lions International. He is also consultant in a few NGOs.
